Kisah Syetan Dalam Sepotong Cermin

(QS. At Tiin [95] : 4)

( voa-islam )

So, siap membuat suami jatuh cinta lagi kepada anda???

Berbagai Peristiwa Cyber Terbesar Di Dunia, Yang Tercatat Oleh Sejarah

3. Sentral Komando AS (2008)

Pada 2008 Departemen Pertahanan AS, mendapat serangan.

4. Georgia (2008)

Bollywood Bond girl furious over Elle magazine cover 'skin-whitening' scandal

Bollywood Bond girl furious over Elle magazine cover 'skin-whitening' scandal - Fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were left stunned last week after the actress's skin appeared to have been digitally lightened on the cover of a new issue of Elle magazine.

Now the 37-year-old Bollywood star, who is widely believed to be the world's most beautiful woman, is said to be considering suing the Indian version of the title over what has been deemed 'racist airbrushing'.

The actress herself has not commented on the situation, but friends of the Bride and Prejudice star have said she is 'furious'.

'Aishwarya's first reaction was disbelief,' said one.

'She believed that these things don't happen anymore. Not in this day and age when women are recognised for their merit, and not for the colour of their skin.

'She is currently verifying this skin-whitening allegation. If there is any proof of this, she might even take action.'

Another adder: 'She is clearly the global face of the contemporary Indian woman. The last thing she'd want is to have a global image coloured by a racial suggestion.'

Neither Elle magazine or Mrs Bachan were available for comment today. The actress, a former Miss World who is married to fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan, is thought to be too preoccupied by her father, who is ill, to look into the matter further.

Fans of Mrs Bachchan were the first to notice that her skin was several shades lighter than usual, and were quick to view concerns on social networking sites such as Twitter.

One wrote: ‘It’s annoying because it seems like lighter skin is always in fashion as if darker skin is something to be frowned upon.’

This is not the first time Elle magazine has come under fire over such airbrushing, and this latest storm echoes one sparked by a cover of the U.S. edition earlier this year.

In September, black actress Gabourey Sidibe appeared on the cover of the title with a noticeably paler complexion.

On that occasion Elle claimed it had not altered the Precious star’s skin any more than that of the other models photographed alongside her.

Editor-in-chief Robbie Myers dismissed the suggestion of racism, explaining: 'At a photo shoot, in a studio, that is a fashion shoot, that's glamorous, the lighting is different. The photography is different than a red carpet shot from a paparazzi.'

Skin lightening is a controversial issue in India and those with a lighter complexion are often perceived to be more successful and wealthy.

Skin-lightening products aimed at young men and women now form a multi-million-pound industry. ( dailymail.co.uk )

Ternyata, Olahraga Tidak Berdampak Apa - Apa Terhadap Kualitas Dan Kuantitas Sperma

http://stat.k.kidsklik.com/data/photo/2010/04/14/0019597p.jpg

Outrage over Michael Jackson autopsy reenactment

Outrage over Michael Jackson autopsy reenactment – The executors of Michael Jackson's estate are expressing outrage over an "insensitive" television special "in shockingly bad taste" that plans to reenact the King of Pop's autopsy.

In a letter to Discovery Communications on Wednesday, John Branca and John McClain deplored in the strongest terms the Discovery Channel's "blind desire to exploit Michael's death, while cynically attempting to dupe the public into believing this show will have serious medical value."

The pair were especially angered by a European promotional advertisement for the program that shows Jackson's trademark sequined glove emerging from beneath a coroner's white draping sheet.

"Discovery obviously views this as clever advertising and creative 'branding' for the program... In fact, the ad is debased, sick and insensitive," said the letter addressed to Discovery Communications president and CEO David Zaslav.

"On behalf of Michael's family, fans, common sense and decency, we urge you to reconsider and cancel this program."

Discovery has not yet responded to this letter about the advertised program, which does not yet have a specific air date for Europe.

Jackson died on June 25, 2009 at age 50 from drug-induced respiratory arrest at his Beverly Hills mansion after his personal doctor, Conrad Murray, injected him with a powerful cocktail of sedatives and painkillers, including Propofol, to help him sleep.

Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter in February this year. A judge has set a deadline of early January for prosecutors to gather evidence in that case. (

Michael Jackson executors want TV "autopsy" canceled

Michael Jackson executors want TV "autopsy" canceled – Executors of Michael Jackson's estate on Wednesday asked a TV network to cancel a program reenacting the singer's autopsy, calling it "in shockingly bad taste".

"Your decision to even schedule this program is in shockingly bad taste, insensitive to Michael family and appears to be motivated solely by your blind desire to exploit Michael's death," co-executors John Branca and John McClain wrote in a letter to Discovery Communications.

"On behalf of Michael's family, fans, common sense and decency, we urge you to reconsider and cancel this program," they added.

The show, "Michael Jackson's Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson," is set to air in Europe in January.

A print advertisement for the program shows a body covered by a sheet, with one hand poking out wearing the "Thriller" singer's trademark sequined glove.

"Discovery obviously views this as clever advertising and creative 'branding' for its program. But in fact, the ad is debased, sick and insensitive," Branca and McClain wrote.

A spokesman for Discovery Communications declined to comment on the letter. It follows an online petition organized by Jackson fans around the world.

Jackson died in June 2009 at the age of 50 of an overdose of prescription drugs and the powerful anesthetic propofol. His physician at the time, Dr. Conrad Murray, has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter after admitting giving propofol to Jackson as a sleep aid.

A preliminary hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence for a formal trial is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on Jan 4. (Reuters)

Why migraines are more likely if you suffer pelvic pain

Why migraines are more likely if you suffer pelvic pain - They are two of the most common chronic conditions in women - migraine and chronic pelvic pain.

And, according to the latest research, the two complaints may be linked.

Seven out of ten women with chronic pelvic pain also have migraine, three times the normal rate.

Researchers say more investigations are now needed, which could lead to better treatments for both conditions.

Young woman with hands on stomach
Results show that 67 per cent of women with chronic pelvic pain had migraines and another eight per cent had headaches that were possible migraines

Chronic pelvic pain is characterised by discomfort in the region between the hips, below the bellybutton, for six months or more. It accounts for ten per cent of all gynaecological visits.

While a percentage of cases are linked to infections or growths within the uterus, often the cause is never discovered.

The condition affects 15 to 24 per cent of women of reproductive age - similar to the prevalence of migraine in women - about 20 per cent, compared with seven per cent of men.

A migraine is usually felt as a throbbing pain at the front or on one side of the head. Some sufferers also experience nausea and sensitivity to light.

In the new study, researchers from the US government's National Institutes of Health, investigated the relationship between migraine and chronic pelvic pain in women, with and without endometriosis, a condition that causes tissue from the lining of the uterus to migrate to other parts of the body. The women, aged up to 46, had suffered for an average of around ten years.

Results show that 67 per cent of women with chronic pelvic pain had migraines and another eight per cent had headaches that were possible migraines, three times the rate found in women generally. Migraine was no more likely in women with endometriosis than those without.

'Migraine might be more closely associated with chronic pelvic pain than with endometriosis itself,' says Professor Stephen Silberstein, former president of the American Headache Society, who led the study.

'Further investigations may lead to better understanding and management of migraine, endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain.'

One theory is that hormone-like compounds called prostaglandins may be involved. These have a role in a number of functions including inflammation and the contraction and relaxation of blood vessels.

Another theory is that the women with one form of chronic pain become more sensitive to other sources of pain as their nerve cells increase in general sensitivity. Symptoms that would normally not cause pain now do because thresholds have been lowered.

'This interesting study identifies a much-increased prevalence of migraine in those with chronic pelvic pain than in the general population,' says Dr Andrew Dowson, head of headache services at King's College Hospital, London, and chairman of Migraine Action's medical advisory board.

'Other possibilities are that analgesics taken for pelvic pain exacerbate the headache condition, or that pelvic pain is another example of pain sensitising the nervous system, leading to increased headaches.'

Dr Nicholas Silver, consultant neurologist at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Liverpool, says: 'These findings support what we have suspected for a long time - we often see patients at our migraine clinic complaining of other types of nerve-related pain; in the neck, back, abdomen or legs.

'Our approach is to get patients off any analgesics, off caffeine, make sure they eat regularly and tackle any sleep problems. We can then look for effective ways of treating the migraine, and once we have the other pain tends to disappear too.' ( dailymail.co.uk )

Did having a baby late in life give me dodgy hips?

Did having a baby late in life give me dodgy hips? - There is nothing quite so life-affirming as having a baby. Having tried for six years to have our second child — which included two soul-destroying cycles of IVF — I conceived and gave birth naturally to our son, Luc Victor, at the age of 41 two years ago.

I relished the opportunity to bounce my not insubstantial baby boy on my knee and take him for long walks in the park, savouring those precious first months.

Not long afterwards I developed a new, gnawing pain in my left hip — a constant ache from my left groin down to my knee. I assumed it emanated from the back problem I’d suffered from for the past ten years. When I became pregnant with Luc, the pain was somewhat quelled by my overwhelming joy and thus merged into the general discomfort of the pregnant state.

Susan and Luc at home. Just five months after giving birth, Susan was told she had osteoarthritis and needed a hip replacement
Back on her feet: Susan and Luc at home. Just five months after giving birth, Susan was told she had osteoarthritis and needed a hip replacement

You can imagine my dismay, then, when just five months after giving birth, I was told that the hip pain was due to severe osteoarthritis and I needed a hip replacement.
Hip replacements are not sexy. How many celebrities can you call to mind that have admitted to having had one?

As the former editor at large of Hello! Magazine, the only calendar girl that springs to my mind is the late Queen Mother, who only reinforces the image of this being a condition of the elderly.

If Angelina Jolie had had one — I can just see her now leaning elegantly on an ebony stick hand-carved by tribal women from Namibia — I might have been more forthcoming about my affliction.

Instead I shuffled around in agony, mumbling something vague about having to go into hospital to have something done to my hip. The specialist I saw said there was little cartilage remaining in my left hip joint and I would need a hip replacement with no delay.

Apparently, I had been born with a dysplastic hip — an abnormally shallow hip socket — which puts you at risk of early osteoarthritis. The condition is more common in women than in men and is often the cause in young women for premature arthritis.

Shocked and pretty demoralised by the news, I sought a second opinion and went to see surgeon Sarah Muirhead-Allwood at The London Hip Unit, who had in fact performed a hip replacement for my poster girl the Queen Mother.

Four months after my initial consultation, she confirmed my condition had deteriorated to the extent that there was now no cartilage left in my left hip.

The bare bones of my hip joint were rubbing against each other — and the hip joint was literally crumbling away. I was beyond alternative treatments, supplements or physiotherapy and she recommended surgery. I’ve since learned it’s not unusual for women with a dysplastic hip to encounter problems following pregnancy, usually a year afterwards.

'I existed on a diet of Nurofen and felt very sorry for myself'

‘There is a lot of hormonal change at this time and ligaments may loosen, which may cause increased problems to the hips,’ Miss Muirhead-Allwood confirms.
Even pregnant women without this condition are warned to be careful when exercising, since hormonal change softens the joints and may increase the risk of injury at this time.

I wondered whether being an older mum — and the hormonal changes this stage of life brings in its wake — had somehow compounded the problem.
‘I really know of no evidence that having children later in life has a big impact on hip arthritis,’ she told me.

‘My own feeling is that caring for a small child and all the lifting and carrying this entails probably puts more stress on the hip than the pregnancy or the hormonal changes.’

It didn’t help that my husband Nick, a foreign news journalist, disappeared for long periods to various conflict zones soon after Luc’s birth, leaving me to look after a newborn, a six-year-old and my 82-year-old mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s — as well as earning a living.

My condition began to significantly impact on my quality of life. And all my plans of getting back in shape walking my eldest son Jack to and from school were ditched. I couldn’t stand the pain.

I existed on a diet of Nurofen and felt very sorry for myself, especially as there appears to be no history of early-onset arthritis in my family. My mother and her sister, both in their 80s, have lower than average evidence of arthritis for their age.

Post pregnancy, mums are not expected to be at their most glamorous, but my Hello! days, teetering around in my high heels on Mr Armani’s yacht and the like, seemed a very distant memory as I trudged around with a rolling gait, wearing trainers with absolutely everything.

The constant pain compounded with the demands of looking after a new baby made me feel as if I was hurtling headlong into post-natal depression.

The deciding moment came when Jack told me I was boring because I didn’t run and never played football. I finally resigned myself to the fact that surgery was the only option.

I was stunned to discover that quite contrary to the belief that hip replacement is exclusively the domain of the elderly, around ten per cent of all operations are performed on patients under 50.

Forward thinking: Susan had a partial hip replacement, which is less invasive than a total replacement (x-ray shown)

In our gym-obsessed society, keep-fit fanatics have increasingly developed osteoarthritis due to excessive impact exercise. But the new techniques available are enabling these patients faster recovery and greater mobility so they can continue their active lives.

I had hoped I might be a candidate for so-called Birmingham hip resurfacing, which is recommended for younger patients who are likely to outlive their replacement joints and require revision surgery.

Unlike the old-style full hip replacement, which involves a large part of the femur, or thigh bone, being removed, as well as the ball and socket of the hip joint, this operation simply involves putting a new, smooth covering on the damaged areas — and is expected to last at least 20 years.

If and when the replacement does wear out, revision surgery is much easier because the femur hasn’t been involved.

Sadly, my fragile hip, worn down by the constant rubbing of bone on bone, was so badly damaged that I was not a candidate for hip resurfacing.

Instead I was given a Birmingham Mid-Head Resection — which is often described as partial hip replacement.

Although slightly less dramatic than the full surgery, it is a major operation and involves the replacing of the ball and socket joint with a 2lb titanium prosthesis. This implant fixes into the base of the femur and has a short stem rather than the longer stem that goes down into the femoral shaft in a total hip replacement.

It is suitable for younger patients because when it does wear out (usually after about 20 years), a hip replacement can be done at this time.

I was on crutches for a month. It was a challenging time, especially with a seven-month-old baby. I needed 24-hour support for the first six weeks because I couldn’t pick up my baby when he cried. My husband had to take four weeks off work — he couldn’t wait to get back to the war zone, I can tell you.

I almost certainly will have to have revision surgery when I am in my 60s — and there is a chance that I may have to have my other hip done at some point since there is significant evidence of osteoarthritis in my right hip joint, too.

Now, more than a year-and-a-half on from the operation, the 12in scar down the side of my left hip has faded significantly and I have regained most of my mobility — although I doubt I will ever be able to manage a full lotus position again.

But I did manage to compete in the parents’ race on Jack’s sports day — and I caught him cheering, even though I only made it past the finishing line in fourth place. ( dailymail.co.uk )

Rihanna still atop Social 50 chart

Rihanna still atop Social 50 chart – Rihanna holds at No. 1 for a third non-consecutive week on the Social 50 chart, which ranks the most active artists on the world's leading social networking sites -- MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and iLike.

The ranking uses a formula blending weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with weekly artist page views and weekly song plays. The final ranking also includes a measurement that identifies the ratio of page views to fans.

Justin Bieber bumps up 3-2, his third week in the runner-up slot in the five weeks that the chart has been in existence.

Lady Gaga rebounds 6-3 to reach a new peak, the Black Eyed Peas and Eminem stand still, holding at number 4 and 5, respectively. Akon ascends 7-6.

Leave it to a racy video to turn on the social masses. Enrique Iglesias' not-safe-for-work clip for "Tonight I'm F*****' You" premiered last week online and set the viral world on fire. The singer vaults from No. 21 to No. 7 with the largest gain of Facebook fans (up 125%) on the chart following the debut of "Tonight's" sexually charged video on December 23.

Rounding out the top 10 are Michael Jackson, who moves up a slot to No. 8, Linkin Park, which climbs 10-9, and Katy Perry, who drops 8-10.

Bay Area duo Pomplamoose has been inescapable this holiday season as they and their music have been the centerpiece of Hyundai's Christmas widely-seen television advertising campaign.

In the three spots, the act puts their distinctive spin on holiday standards "Jingle Bells," "Deck the Halls" and "Up on the Housetop." With that exposure, Pomplamoose is the top debut at No. 29 and posts the chart's best percentage gain among YouTube channel page views (up 78%).

With the absence of Pomplamoose holiday tracks at digital retailers, YouTube is a main source for those desiring to see the TV spots.

Keri Hilson also enters the tally at number 35, owed to the buzz generated by the release of her new album, "No Boys Allowed," on December 21. She posts percentage increases in all monitored social segments: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, iLike and MySpace. ( Billboard )

Is email dead? Under 25s abandoning 'cumbersome' mode of communication for social networking sites

Is email dead? Under 25s abandoning 'cumbersome' mode of communication for social networking sites - Many scoffed when Mark Zuckerberg declared the death of email last month. Now new figures reveal that the Facebook founder may be right.

Just like cassettes, videos and faxes, the use of email appears to be in an irreversible decline.

According to statistics from market researchers comScore, millions of Britons led by the under-25s are abandoning the cumbersome tool for social networking sites.

Email is so 20th century: Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan got together via email in the 1998 film 'You've Got Mail.' Now they would likely use Twitter

The three most popular services in the UK - Yahoo! Mail, Gmail and Hotmail, have all seen a consistent fall in the number of people visiting their sites.

Email providers have lost around 1.2million users since numbers peaked in October 2009, although this only covers personal accounts, according to the figures obtained by The Times.

Younger consumers prefer the faster pace of instant messaging, which is a far more flexible way of conversing online. Pictures are easy to share through integrated galleries.

Websites such as Facebook also let users know if their friends are also online and so will know if their missive has been received.

This helps explain why Facebook has attracted 1.3million more members since January while there are 320,000 more people on Twitter.

Writing for PC Magazine, columnist John Dvorak said email has become useless to many.

'There is no real way of confirming receipt of an email other than the annoying receipt request,' he said.

'People also change their email addresses far too often and few have a permanent email address where people can always contact them,' he said.

'Plus a lot of people end up with poorly administered email systems that results in boxes filled with so much spam the user abandons the entire address.'

Email has been downgraded by many to humdrum activities such as for paying bills or receiving newsletters.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg highlighted this electronic revolution in November when he hailed the death of email as we know it.

The 26-year-old said emails would go the way of the letter because it was too slow and too formal.

In its place he showcased Facebook’s own version which integrates all web and text-based communications.

Mr Zuckerberg revealed that, as rumoured, the 500million people signed up to Facebook will have access to a ‘Facebook.com’ email address.

However, he said: 'We don’t think that a modern messaging system is going to be email.'

Instead the new system will then allow people to simplify their communications regardless of how they choose to do it.

Texts, email or instant messages will all come into one ‘feed’ and users can respond in any way they want.

One person could text a friend, for example, who will see the message come up on their Facebook page instantly and respond via an instant message or email.

'We want people to be able to communicate in whatever way they choose: email, text or Facebook message,' Mr Zuckerberg said.

It seems likely email will be the least popular option. ( dailymail.co.uk )

Did first humans come out of Middle East and not Africa? Israeli discovery forces scientists to re-examine evolution of modern man

Did first humans come out of Middle East and not Africa? Israeli discovery forces scientists to re-examine evolution of modern man - Scientists could be forced to re-write the history of the evolution of modern man after the discovery of 400,000-year-old human remains.

Until now, researchers believed that homo sapiens, the direct descendants of modern man, evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago and gradually migrated north, through the Middle East, to Europe and Asia.

Recently, discoveries of early human remains in China and Spain have cast doubt on the 'Out of Africa' theory, but no-one was certain.

The new discovery of pre-historic human remains by Israeli university explorers in a cave near Ben-Gurion airport could force scientists to re-think earlier theories.

Archeologists from Tel Aviv University say eight human-like teeth found in the Qesem cave near Rosh Ha’Ayin - 10 miles from Israel’s international airport - are 400,000 years old, from the Middle Pleistocene Age, making them the earliest remains of homo sapiens yet discovered anywhere in the world.

The size and shape of the teeth are very similar to those of modern man. Until now, the earliest examples found were in Africa, dating back only 200,000 years.

Other scientists have argued that human beings originated in Africa before moving to other regions 150,000 to 200,000 years ago.

Homo sapiens discovered in Middle Awash, Ethiopia, from 160,000 years ago were believed to be the oldest 'modern' human beings.

Other remains previously found in Israeli caves are thought to have been more recent and 80,000 to 100,000 years old.

The findings of Professor Avi Gopher and Dr Ran Barkai of the Institute of Archeology at Tel Aviv University, published last week in the American Journal of Physical Anthropology, suggest that modern man did not originate in Africa as previously believed, but in the Middle East.

The Qesem cave was discovered in 2000 and has been the focus of intense study ever since.

Along with the teeth – the parts of the human skeleton that survive the longest – the researchers found evidence of a sophisticated early human society that used sharpened flakes of stone to cut meat and other impressive prehistoric tools.

The Israeli scientists said the remains found in the cave suggested the systematic production of flint blades, the habitual use of fire, evidence of hunting, cutting and sharing of animal meat, and mining raw materials to produce flint tools from rocks below ground.

'A diversified assemblage of flint blades was manufactured and used,' the Tel Aviv scientists wrote, describing the tools they found in the cave.

'Thick-edged blades, shaped through retouch, were used for scraping semi-hard materials such as wood or hide, whereas blades with straight, sharp working edges were used to cut soft tissues.'

The explorers said they were continuing to investigate the cave and its contents, expecting to make more discoveries that would shed further light on human evolution in prehistoric times. ( dailymail.co.uk )

Want to stave off ailments of old age? Then try thinking young

Want to stave off ailments of old age? Then try thinking young - Forget fad diets and expensive face creams. The key to looking young is to grow old disgracefully.

Those who think and dress in a youthful way are healthier than those who act their age, according to research.

Mind over matter, it seems, can improve everything from blood pressure to arthritis and eyesight.

Even the development of heart disease and cancer may, at least to a degree, be staved off by refusing to grow old gracefully.

The intriguing claims come from researchers at Harvard University, who reviewed a series of studies into how the mind influences the body.

In one experiment, elderly men were ‘transported’ back to 1959 for a week. They lived in accommodation fitted out in the decor of the Fifties, were played TV shows and music of the time and told to talk and act as if they were living then.

By the end of the week, the men were perceived to look around three years younger. Their hearing and eyesight improved, arthritic joints were more flexible, muscles were stronger and minds sharper.

The experiment echoes the recent TV series The Young Ones, in which celebrities including Lionel Blair and Dickie Bird spent a week in a house fitted out in the style of 1975 – when they were in their prime.

Blair, 79, said the ‘extraordinary’ experience gave him the mind of a 40-year-old and the body of a man 20 years his junior.

In the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science, researcher Ellen Langer suggests that much of the decline of old age may be driven by negative perceptions about our later years – and breaking these down can improve health.

A second study revealed that cutting and colouring women’s hair not only made them feel younger, but reduced their blood pressure.

And when strangers were shown pictures of the woman with their hair hidden, they were rated as looking younger after their trip to the salon – despite their new styles not being visible.

Research also shows that older mothers tend to age more slowly than those who give birth in their 20s. While this may be partly due to having the money and know-how to look after themselves, they may also benefit from forming friendships with younger women at the school gates.

Dr Langer, a psychologist, said: ‘Suddenly the older mother’s world is surrounded by younger cues, including younger mothers and their young children.

‘The conversations an older mother may have about her body may be more similar to a younger mother who has just had a child than with another woman her own age who is lamenting her body “breaking down”.’

Similarly, someone with a young spouse may think and act young, to the benefit of their body.

Research also shows that wearing a uniform to work can slow down ageing – perhaps because it prevents more elderly staff from dressing according to their age.

Even prostate cancer and heart disease may be influenced by the mind, with studies finding they are more prevalent in men who are prematurely aged by going bald early.

Dr Langer suggests that simply thinking young can do the power of good. She advised people not to dwell on the ageing process, adding: ‘Don’t buy the mind-set in the first place, then you won’t be vulnerable to it.

‘I think we have far more control over our health and wellbeing than most of us realise.’

Cary Cooper, professor of psychology and health at Lancaster University, described the findings as ‘common sense’.

He added that youthful thinkers tend to exercise their bodies and brains more, boosting physical and psychological health. ( dailymail.co.uk )

Oliver and Olivia become Britain's most popular names for children in 2010

Oliver and Olivia become Britain's most popular names for children in 2010 - Oliver became the most popular boy’s name this year, knocking Jack into second place after 16 years.

And Olivia remains the most popular girl’s name for the third year running, according to a survey of 423,000 children born in 2010.

The list also suggests that TV, celebrity and news trends continue to have a major influence on what parents call their children.

Florence is becoming increasingly popular for girls, moving up 33 places, following the birth of David Cameron’s daughter in August.

Ollie, which is listed separately from Oliver, emerged as the biggest male climber – up 56 places to number 53, perhaps due to the X Factor star Olly Murs.

Lacey jumped from number 57 up to 37, possibly because of EastEnders actress Lacey Turner.

The highest climber in the girls’ list is Bella, the same name as the lead character in supernatural romance fantasy film series Twilight, played by actress Kristen Stewart. But the first names of troubled stars Katie Price and Amy Winehouse fell out of the top 20.

Both Zachary and Zac have become more common – moving into the top 80, perhaps inspired by High School Musical’s Zac Efron.

Kai, the name of Coleen and Wayne Rooney’s son, has jumped ten places to number 56, despite the England footballer’s indiscretions and disappointing World Cup performance.

The list was compiled by online parenting club Bounty from names given to it by parents who had children this year.

An official Office for National Statistics list of names released earlier this year revealed that Mohammed, encompassing all its different spellings, was the most popular boy’s name. But it does not appear on the Bounty list because of the site’s social demographic.

New mothers turn to lasers to zap their stretch marks

New mothers turn to lasers to zap their stretch marks - New mothers are increasingly opting for laser treatment to get rid of stretch marks after pregnancy.

Cosmetic clinics say that demand has increased by a third over the last three months, with prices starting at £200.

They say it can reduce white streaks, which can also occur in teenagers and women without children, by up to 75 per cent.

Pregnancy and rapid weight gain or loss can cause stretch marks in any part of the body as a woman’s shape changes.

The Harley Medical Group launched the laser treatment in May and says it has been astonished by the level of demand.

Director Liz Dale said: ‘We are getting three or four hundred inquiries a week. It is going up by thousands and we believe it will be the new big thing next year.

Beauty therapy: Laser treatment for skin rejuvenation is also increasingly popular
Beauty therapy: Laser treatment for skin rejuvenation and hair removal is also increasingly popular

‘Up to eight in ten women have stretch marks, and so do a lot of men, and although there are creams available this is the only approved laser treatment on the market. It works by firing a beam into the skin. There may be some redness for a couple of days afterwards but that is all.’

She said three quarters of women were booking the treatment for stretch marks that resulted form weight changes during and after pregnancy to their stomach, thighs and breasts.

Women over 50 are also turning to the laser therapy in large numbers. Other non surgical treatments for skin rejuvination as well as laser hair removal, have also seen a significant increase in bookings.

However the group said surgical procedures still make up the majority of its business.

Among women, breast augmentation was the most popular procedure followed by nose jobs, liposuction and tummy tucks.
