What are the different credit card types?

What are the different credit card types? - I think you are referring to credit card categories. Of course the major credit cards

are Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. But each of those is further broken down into credit card types and categories. For example you may be seeking a credit card type for "Bad Credit". If you clicked on that category or credit card type, you would see a list of each of the major cards available that offer cards for those whose credit is not as good as they might like.

Similarly another credit card type would be "Cash Back". This would be a credit card type for those seeking cash back on purchase from multiple sources such as gas, food, home improvement, etc. Another credit card type is "Balance Transfer" which reflects low or no balance APR. Watch out for balance transfer fees on this one as well as promotional offers.

A couple other credit card types include "Low Interest" cards, cards offering "Frequent Flyer" options and cards with "Reward Points" associated. All of these credit card types are available from each of the major card issuers.

But then there are a couple of other credit card types specifically designed for you if you are a "Student" or in "Business". Various opportunities are available for students including some cards with no co-signer required, some with rewards programs and some with no frills at all. But all are designed for the student. Similarly some business cards have cash back, others frequent flyer but all are designed for the business man or woman. There is even a credit card type for "Instant Approval" if you want a speedier process as well as one for "Visa" if you are specifically seeking a Visa credit card type.

Regardless of what credit card type you are seeking, these criteria can probably lead you two a myriad of choices of all the credit card issuers.
