World Cup celebrations continue (in sober style) as Iker Castillas and girlfriend Sara Carbonero have dinner in Madrid. The World Cup may have been over on Sunday - and a lot longer for most of us - but the celebrations will continue in Spain for a very long time.

Especially for Iker Casillas and his girlfriend Sara Carbonero who were snapped out enjoying a post-tournament meal with some friends in Madrid last night.

But despite making history just a few days earlier when Spain lifted the World Cup for the first time ever, the country's goalkeeper stayed sober so he could drive him and his sports journalist girlfriend home afterwards.

Dressed very casually, the pair looked happy and refreshed and probably still on a massive high after Spain won the World Cup on Sunday for the first time after beating the Netherlands 1-0 in extra time.

Carbonero, 25, who works for Telecinco, looked chic in a grey vest dress and blue wedged heels, while Casillas, 29, dressed very down in shorts and flip-flops.

He clutched a handful of newspapers, which are probably still filled with celebratory articles about Spain's historic victory.

But apart from the elated national team, all eyes have also been on the country's very own Posh and Becks, who made more than their fair share of headlines during the tournament

Casillas, who plays for Real Madrid, was so overcome with emotion after he helped his national side win the coveted tournament, the cameras stayed with him as he sobbed with delight on the pitch of the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg.

And seeing his emotive state, his generous teammates let Casillas be the first player to lift the trophy as it was awarded to the team by FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

Soon afterwards, he was cornered by his girlfriend, as she conducted post-match interviews with the players.

Being the first ever Spaniard to lift the golden trophy, he almost broke down again as he thanked his family and friends for their support during the World Cup.

Sara tried to ask him some more about the match itself but he was so overcome with emotion that he grabbed his woman and gave her a full-on kiss live on Spanish TV.

Although it wasn't all good cheer for the couple throughout the tournament in South Africa.

Sara, who was pitchside, was blamed for distracting Casillas as he conceded a goal to Switzerland in Spain's first World Cup match.

And to add insult to injury, after the match, Sara asked her boyfriend: 'How did you manage to muck it up?'
