Lady Gaga has turned her attention from pop to Polaroids

Lady Gaga has turned her attention from pop to Polaroids - and helped create incredible gadgets including hi-tech camera glasses.

The state-of-the-art specs were just one of the amazing new gizmos on display at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the biggest and best annual technology show in the world.

Futuristic singer GaGa, 24, is "creative director" for Polaroid and showcased three contraptions worthy of James Bond.

She unveiled a pair of GL20 Camera Glasses which have a tiny camera built into them.

The glasses are only a prototype and no release date has been set.

Poker Face star GaGa also unmasked the tiny GL10 Instant Mobile Printer, which will be available from March. It's small enough to pop in a handbag.

It connects to phones and other devices via Bluetooth and prints small photos like the old Polaroid cameras.

GaGa's third device, the GL30 Instant Digital Camera, can take both digital and Polaroid pictures.

You can either print a small image out directly from the camera or store the image as normal.

"I think it's sexy, it's sleek and it's hearty," she said.

Rapper 50 Cent brought some muscle as well as his Sleek Audio wireless headphones to the show.

They are a rival to the popular Beats by Dr Dre headphones.

Hundreds of manufacturers showed off their new tablets - handheld touchscreen computers.

The main trends revealed at this year's show are new tablets to rival Apple's iPad, an explosion of 3D and everything getting smaller and more integrated with the web.

The best seem to be BlackBerry's PlayBook and the Motorola Xoom which runs Google's Android operating system.

Samsung's Sliding PC 7 Series, which run on Windows 7, have a touchscreen but also a physical keyboard underneath.

Sales of tablet PCs are expected to overtake those of e-readers such as the Kindle this year, doubling to 30million units. Most tablets will run Google's free Android software, with a few using Microsoft Windows.

There is even a new Parrot Asteroid car stereo which is powered by Android - allowing drivers to download apps (perhaps to show nearby parking spaces), music and get the latest traffic information. The biggest new development in TVs is the addition of internet. Most new models will be able to run software at the same time as normal TV shows - so you can sit on the sofa while using YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and eBay straight from the telly.

The kitchen will be bristling with new technology too. LG have created a Smart Fridge and a Smart Cooker which have screens and are linked to the web. They can look up recipes and even let you use Twitter while baking cakes. And everything is getting smaller. Sony showed off a 3D Bloggie handheld video camera which is as small as a cigarette packet.

Microsoft wheeled out their Avatar Kinect - a 3D virtual self that can go into a world of other users' avatars to chat and interact. Basically it means you can stand in front of the TV and the Kinect scanner picks up on your movements and projects them on to your animated avatar. (.thesun.co.uk )
